How Prescription Delivery Works After a Telehealth Consultation
Dispensing and Delivery
After a telehealth consultation, any prescription is issued as an electronic script and sent to an Australian pharmacy. The pharmacy dispenses the medicine, packs it and hands it to a courier, and you receive a dispatch notice with tracking where available. Timing depends on the pharmacy, the courier and where you live. The clinic does not dispense.
From script to your door
Electronic script
If the practitioner prescribes, they issue an electronic script token that a pharmacy can scan.
Pharmacist check
A registered pharmacist checks the script, then prepares or selects the medicine and labels it.
Packing and dispatch
The pharmacy packs the order, with cold packs where the medicine needs them, and hands it to a courier.
Tracking
You receive a dispatch notice, with a tracking link where the courier provides one.
Delivery
The parcel arrives in outer packaging that does not describe the contents, and some medicines must be signed for.
